Terms of Service
& benchmark data use
A clear agreement about where your data comes from, how we use it, and what other advertisers can see.
Private prototype draft · 2026-09-11-draft-1. These proposed product terms require Tailwind legal review before customer launch. Accepting this draft records the prototype agreement; it does not establish Pinterest’s authorization for benchmarking.
1. Your authority and account connection
You must be authorized to connect and use the advertiser accounts you select, including to permit the benchmark use described here. Reporting comes directly from Pinterest through its authorization flow and API. We do not accept uploaded files or manually supplied performance data. Phase 1 requests read-only advertising access and does not create ads, change budgets, or manage campaigns.
2. Permission to build and improve benchmarks
By accepting these terms and connecting an account, you authorize Tailwind to retrieve, store, process, and analyze its advertising reporting to provide your reports and to continually build, refresh, and improve the service’s benchmarks. This includes combining eligible reporting with other participating advertisers’ reporting to produce anonymized, aggregated statistics, subject to applicable law and Pinterest permissions.
Benchmark use is an explicit part of the service—not permission to sell your identifiable account data. Sample reports use fictional data and never contribute to live benchmarks.
3. What other advertisers can see
Your detailed account reporting is private to your authorized workspace. Benchmark results shown to other advertisers are only anonymized and aggregated: they do not expose your business name, account identifiers, individual campaign results, or raw reporting rows. Anonymization must prevent identification of a contributing advertiser, not merely remove its name.
We withhold comparisons when there are too few eligible advertisers or when a result could reveal a contributor. Do not attempt to identify other contributors or reconstruct their underlying data. The pilot applies a minimum cohort size; broader release also requires review of re-identification and concentration risks.
4. Disconnecting, participation, and deletion
You can stop future syncing by disconnecting Pinterest. In this prototype, disconnecting also excludes the linked accounts from newly calculated benchmarks. You can turn off benchmark participation in account settings or delete saved account reporting. Disconnecting alone retains your saved reporting; deletion removes the account’s reporting, history, and saved report snapshots from this prototype.
Previously delivered anonymized, aggregated results may remain in reports already provided to users. Subject to applicable law and platform requirements, finalized terms may permit retention of statistics that can no longer identify or be linked back to you. This draft does not promise indefinite retention of identifiable reporting. Retention periods and deletion procedures must be finalized before launch.
5. Accuracy and permitted use
Reports depend on Pinterest’s reporting, attribution settings, data availability, and eligible comparison groups. Benchmarks describe participating advertisers, not every advertiser on Pinterest. They are informational and do not guarantee results or profitability. Do not misuse the service, evade access controls, or submit accounts you are not authorized to manage.
6. Current scope and governing documents
This private pilot does not activate a paid subscription or managed advertising service. Those services will need separate finalized commercial terms. Tailwind’s existing Terms of Service and Privacy Policy are available for reference; this draft is not a replacement for them.
Live benchmarks remain disabled until Tailwind confirms legal readiness and explicit written Pinterest authorization. Pinterest’s Developer Guidelines apply in addition to the advertiser agreement. The current pilot keeps comparisons within one private workspace.
